When Daniel figured out that Adria's Ori powers were nullified in that chamber where they found the Sangraal, I believe he was thinking about tossing her down that bottomless pit. I suspect that such a thought then meant that he was no longer pure of heart. Does that make sense to anybody?

Re: Not so pure of heart
Sat, September 23, 2006 - 7:15 PMIt does make sense, and he should have done it. The kid's rotten to the core, and if they do a "oh-I'm-cured-now-happy-happy-joy-joy" with her we will know that the series has passed into the realm of the Undead! -

Sun, September 24, 2006 - 5:08 PMOr it could be that they have one more test regardless of whether he was pure of heart or not which is the dragon. And unless they do manage to find a new home for SG-1 we may never know!

Re: Not so pure of heart
Tue, September 26, 2006 - 9:26 AMDo you HAVE to be a wuss to be pure of heart? I mean, pure only goes so far. He could have saved millions or billions by setting the Ori back another 6-day generation. -

Re: Not so pure of heart
Mon, October 16, 2006 - 5:00 PMI think this is moot. When we talk about the ancients and any technology based tests which these obviously were we cant possibly expect them to make a contraption that detects "evil" or "purity" these are mental constructs and attatchments of sentient beings not empiracal measurable data sets. In all of these tests they were designed so only those with such qualities would make the right decision leading to the passing of the test, or at least to widdle out some of the obvious undesireables, they didnt explicitly sense or test whether or not one possessed these qualities. -

Re: Not so pure of heart
Tue, October 17, 2006 - 7:26 AMExcellent point. a) not only are the Ancients flawed characters themselves, b) their automated tools are just puzzles. I guess "pure of heart" needs to be put in cultural context for the Ancients, meant to foil anybody who didn't understand them or think like them.
