Atlantis finale

just watched the season finale of Atlantis, and i have one thing to say...........
STUPIDEST
EPISODE
EVER!!!!
i mean, it probably doesnt help that i missed the episode with the pegasis replicators or whatever, but still. they tried to introduce WAY too many new developments WAY too fast, just to get the team to a positiong where they can play a defy orders to save the day, and i think the way the had the ancienct act was WAY out of character for them. and of course u know that they ARE gonna save the day, but unfortunatle, the ancients will all be killed in the process........*sigh* the only way for this episode (and the continuation) to possibly redeem itself is to turn out to be just another dream.........

Of course if the episode were another dream, that would be a monster cliche too. I'm being cliched to death here!

Really!! I thought it was great. I was really entertained. Oh course they are going to save the day. That is their job and what we come to expect.

Or maybe the replicators are back in their heads again and none of this is really happening. Is that what you mean by it being a dream? They just seemed to accept way too quickly that these were real Ancients, "Sure, we'll give you help and give the city back to you!"

Well they did have an Ancient warship and pulled that nifty trick with the console after coming into Atlantis. Those sorts of things make you think you're dealing with Ancients. And it certainly solved the problem of the depleted ZPM. But a thought occured to me that in this massive database that the Ancients must have had on Atlantis was there no instruction on how to build a zpm? That would be like us not having in the Library of Congress how to build an eletric generator plant or nuclear power plant or solar panels. Just a thought. Maybe there's no google in the Ancient database!

I couldn't help but think that they escaped from the Atlantian-built replicators, and a city made from the same interchangeable components, in a puddle-jumper. Who's to say a couple of the nanovillians didn't skittle abord, or that the entire puddle-jumper wasn't one of them. This latest episode I expected to find that the "displaced Ancients" were just a bunch of replicants with a clever ruse to get back Atlantis -- it seemed to fit, since they were so inexplicably gruff about kicking the human2's out. Apparently I got it all wrong, ooorr did I?

who knows. based on how fast things changed in this episode, i have no idea where their gonna go with the conclusion. but damn, now im sad i missed the replicators one....sounds like it could have shed a WHOLE bunch of light on it.....

Yup! That Atlantis episode did have a lot of predictable predictabilities. But at least it wasn't as bad as that episode where Weir thought she was institutionalized. Part two could make up for all the cliches if do something totally unexprected.

On a very related issue, did anybody else noticed what looked to be a plentiful star field in intergalactic space? Presumably, those weren't stars but galaxies. Although I don't think the number of galaxies visible from the vicinity of the Milky Way would be that high.

well supposedly they were only looking @ 2 galaxies; the milky way and the pegasus. tho, given the actual distances involved, i dunno if they would be that spectacular and big looking if you were halfway between the two.

My biggest hope is that the Ancients will survive and be able to see their need for our friends. Perhaps a partnership would be in order, at least until the Ancients get back on their feet.
