Re: Homemade stargate
Mon, October 4, 2004 - 2:02 PMI keep it in the living room of my flat.
I use it for trips to the grocery store -- very handy.... tho the neighbors complain about the noise it makes, and my power bills are horrendous.
At least it doesn't make the fire alarm go off because someone has burned a double batch of top-ramman at 3am. -

Thu, October 7, 2004 - 9:25 AMHere's something else: What if the SGC started using that homemade stargate after their's was ripped off? -

Re: Homemade stargate
Tue, October 12, 2004 - 12:16 PMThey'd have to keep a constant supply of microwaves coming into the base under the mountain -- /and that's bound to draw suspicion/ *LOL*

Tue, October 12, 2004 - 12:16 PMProbably best to just hold onto it when they find they need to launch it into another star.

Thu, January 4, 2007 - 6:14 PMI recall hearing in that episode, that it was a single-use gate. Perhaps my memory is incorrect.

Re: Homemade stargate
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 6:23 PMI seem to remember that the homemade star gate blew up just after it transported the alien back to his home planet. It certainly took all the power out at Carter's house. I also seem to remember the alien saying something to the effect that the gate was designed to be used only once. But I have not seen this episode in some time, so I may be wrong on both counts. -

Re: Homemade stargate
Tue, January 9, 2007 - 11:53 PMNo, you're right on both counts.
However, remember that John deLancie's character had his spooks bust into the place, so probably his boys took that homemade gate.
