Firefly and Stargate crossing paths.

Firefly actors Morena Baccarin (Inara) and Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb) have both been in episodes of Stargate SG-1. Adam Baldwin in 2004 for the episodes Heros pt 1 & 2. Morena Baccarin was also in 5 episodes of the final season of Stargate SG-1 as Adria, the high priestess of the Ori. She will continue that role in the upcoming Stargate SG-1 movie, "Stargate: The Ark of Truth." And fellow Firefly alumni Jewel Staite (Kaylee) will be fetured regularly on the forth season of Stargate Atlantis. Apparently the Stargate franchise recognizes talent when they see it.

Stargate as a whole seems to want to honor other sci fi series. Folks from other sci fi series appear often as guests and/or recurring characters.

Besides Firefly there's been Lexa Doig from Andromeda who replaced Dr. Frasier and Mirina Sirtis from ST:TNG as a russian scientist. I'm sure there are others, but those are the two I remember right now.

Anyone got a list of the recurring sci fi folks.

Oh of course you've got John de Lancie who was Q on ST:TNG as the guy in charge of NID

oh and Armin Shimerman who was Quark on ST:TNG and Principal Snyder on Buffy as an alien. Was it the Knox?

    Anyway, who else?

SG-1 writers have paid tribute to a number of Sci-Fi shows throughout the years, often Star Trek. In the episode where we first see the Promithius (sp), Sam tell Jack they can't name the ship Enterprise. There are many Wizard of Oz references in the series as well throughout the series. And even to Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. On at least once, Jack said "Lucy I'm Home" leaving Tealc puzzled.

In the 200th episode, they even poked fun at Firefly/Serenity with the comment about "who makes a major motion picture out of a TV series that only lasted a few episode." Tealc replied "it did well in DVD sales."

As for Trek actors, the actor who played Dr. Flax on Enterprise was in a least one episode of SG-1. Conner (Something), the actor who played Trip on Enterprise has been on Atlantis in a recurring role as Michael, a Wrath turned human turned Wrath again. Of course, Robert Picardo (the Hollogram doctor on Voyager) has had a recurring role on SG-1 as head of the gate oversite committee.

    This list goes on.
